Bruins’ star rookie defenseman Charlie McAvoy exited Saturday’s matchup against the Montreal Canadiens with a lower-body injury.
The rookie was playing the puck in the corner when Montreal’s Brendan Gallagher slashed him in his skate only 37 seconds into the first period. McAvoy left the ice without putting weight on his right leg and struggled down the tunnel towards the Bruins’ locker room.
