No. 32: New York Jets (+0)
The Jets were on their bye week.
No. 31: Dallas Cowboys (-2)
The Cowboys were on their bye week.
No. 30: Jacksonville Jaguars (-2)
The Jaguars were surprisingly competitive against the Packers, but they came up just short.
No. 29: Denver Broncos (-3)
Drew Lock is the worst quarterback to play in 2020. Jarvis Landry and Jakobi Meyers are wide receivers, but they would be better at quarterback than Lock.
No. 28: Washington Football Team (+3)
Washington is competitive with Alex Smith. They likely will not win many games, but they have a chance to win the NFC East. Despite being swept by the Giants, Washington has victories over Philadelphia and Dallas, so another victory over either would secure a sweep of those divisional foes.
No. 27: Detroit Lions (-2)
Matt Patricia has overstayed his welcome in Detroit. The Lions may have won, but they have no real shot at the playoffs.
No. 26: San Francisco 49ers (-2)
An undermanned 49ers squad was competitive until late against the Saints. It was a valiant effort, but the 4-6 49ers have limited upside.
No. 25: Philadelphia Eagles (-9)
The Eagles are just bad at the whole football ordeal. Carson Wentz playing like a bottom 10 quarterback is the new normal, not an aberration.
No. 24: New York Giants (+6)
Despite not having a win outside of the NFC East, the Giants are slowly morphing into the favorite of the division.
No. 23: Cincinnati Bengals (-5)
The Bengals were clobbered by a vastly superior Pittsburgh team.
No. 22: Los Angeles Chargers (+0)
The Chargers are one of three teams without a multi-possession loss. The other teams (Kansas City and Pittsburgh) are 17-1. The Chargers are 2-7.
No. 21: Carolina Panthers (+2)
Teddy Bridgewater may be kept out of Week 11 action, but Carolina is a solid team. Their 2021 season will be much better.
No. 20: Houston Texans (-3)
The schedule had opened up for the Texans to rattle off victories. Alas, Houston fell to the Browns. Even if the Texans were to win out, they would almost certainly miss the playoffs.
No. 19: Chicago Bears (-2)
It is not an exaggeration to say that Chicago’s defense and special teams unit is more likely to score touchdowns than Chicago’s offense. The Bears have as many non-offensive touchdowns as rushing touchdowns.
No. 18: Atlanta Falcons (+3)
The Falcons were on their bye week.
No. 17: New England Patriots (+10)
The Patriots did not demolish the Ravens, but they controlled the line of scrimmage for most of the first three quarters. Damien Harris looks like a legitimate lead back, and Cam Newton can do just enough through the air.
No. 16: Minnesota Vikings (+4)
Through six games, Minnesota was 1-5. Since then, the Vikings have rattled off three straight wins, and they have Dallas, Carolina, and Jacksonville coming up. The Vikings should head to Tampa Bay with a 7-5 record and a real shot at the playoffs.
No. 15: Cleveland Browns (-1)
Of the nine teams at 6-3, the Browns are the worst. They have scored 10 or fewer points four times in the season. Only the Jets have more (five). They have allowed 38 points three times, a mark only Dallas has matched.
No. 14: Seattle Seahawks (-9)
After starting 5-0, Seattle is in free-fall. They have turned the ball over at least three times in three of the last four games. The defense only allowed 23 points and 389 yards against the Rams, but the offense was stifled. Seattle still has the best scoring offense in the NFL, but the defense is in the bottom five in points allowed.
No. 13: Tennessee Titans (-5)
The Titans join Seattle as 5-0 teams to lose three out of four. They have not scored more than 25 points in over a month. They have allowed 360 yards of offense in eight straight games, and they are 31st defensively on third down. Tennessee is regressing to the mean.
No. 12: Las Vegas Raiders (+0)
Las Vegas has strange background metrics. They are the NFL’s best team on third down. They have a top-five offense in scoring drive percentage, yards per drive, and points per drive. On the other hand, they are in the bottom three in opponent’s scoring drive percentage, takeaway percentage (despite forcing five against the Broncos), yards allowed per drive, and points allowed per drive. It is a mixed bag in Nevada.
No. 11: Indianapolis Colts (+4)
Indianapolis has held six teams under 300 yards, the only team to do so in 2020. They are 5-0 when they don’t turn the ball over twice. The Colts have a lower ceiling than the rest of the 6-3 teams, but they can compete with any of them.
No. 10: Arizona Cardinals (+1)
While the Cardinals won on Sunday, they required a miracle to beat the Bills. Even if Arizona had lost, they would still be among the top 12 or so teams. They are dangerous down the stretch.
No. 9: Baltimore Ravens (-5)
While Baltimore has a flawed offense, the defense is still one of the better units in football. Excluding the Kansas City game, Baltimore has not allowed 375 yards or 30 points in a game. Offensively, Lamar Jackson is still an electric athlete, and Baltimore averages 5.0 yards per carry.
No. 8: Los Angeles Rams (+5)
The Rams have the second-best scoring defense and total defense. They allow the fewest yards and points per drive. The offense has had its ebbs and flows, but the defense has been elite. Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey are having All-Pro caliber seasons, and Darious Williams is a superstar in the making.
No. 7: Miami Dolphins (+3)
Miami is in the top 10 in scoring offense and defense despite middling total offense and defense numbers. They have forced a turnover in every game, and they have scored 23 or more points in eight straight games. Miami is strange, but they are one of the best-coached teams in football.
No. 6: Buffalo Bills (+3)
Yes, Buffalo lost on Sunday. However, as mentioned in the Arizona blurb, it took a miracle. It took divine intervention to keep the Bills from 8-2. The point differential is worrisome, and Buffalo is 5-1 in one-score games, but Josh Allen helps in that regard.
No. 5: Green Bay Packers (+2)
It was an ugly win, but it was a win. Green Bay has one of the best offenses in the league, placing third in points per game, yards per drive, and points per drive. Defensively, they do just enough. With how turnover-aversive Green Bay tends to be (6-0 when they do not commit a turnover), it is hard to knock off the Packers without getting hands to Aaron Rodgers’s passes.
No. 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2)
One of the three teams to force a Green Bay turnover, the Buccaneers bounced back with a 23-point win in Charlotte. Tampa Bay forced a turnover for the ninth straight game, and they won their fifth game by at least 14 points. Tampa Bay is 7-1 when they don’t play the…
No. 3: New Orleans Saints (-1)
The team famous for slapping the Buccaneers twice will now be starting former Buccaneer Jameis Winston. Drew Brees sustained internal injuries against the 49ers, and he will likely miss the rest of the month. However, Winston is a capable quarterback, and the Saints will likely not slip much. If anything, Winston will improve the verticality of the New Orleans offense. New Orleans has won six straight games, and they have yet to allow 300 net passing yards in a game.
No. 2: Pittsburgh Steelers (+1)
Pittsburgh has a +100 point differential, second to Kansas City. They have a top-five scoring offense and defense. They have forced multiple turnovers in seven of nine games, tops in the NFL. The Steelers have a genuine shot at 16-0. Watch out, 1972 Dolphins.
No. 1: Kansas City Chiefs (+0)
The Chiefs were on their bye week.
