The Houston Texans are one of the biggest messes in the NFL right now. They decided to trade away their top wide receiver in DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals for running back David Johnson.
I am sure deep down somewhere that Deshaun Watson, the star quarterback of the Houston Texans, was going nuts. That was Watson’s favorite target to throw to. Now, Will Fuller V is his number one receiving option and I don’t think he is a very good number one.
Deshaun Watson only has one more year left on his contract after 2020. Should he take the leap of faith and request a trade?
Watson doesn’t seem like that kind of person, but it wouldn’t be surprising if his agent decided to request one for him.
But what if, for some odd reason, Deshaun Watson were to be traded within the next few days? I am not saying it is going to happen, but what teams could use him as the number one quarterback?
The first team would be the Chicago Bears. They could finally admit that they were wrong for passing on him with the second overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft in favor of Mitchell Trubisky out of the University of North Carolina.
Well, the second team would be the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers need someone in their stadium to spark fans to come to the stadium and enjoy some football none the less.
Watson would have guys like Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Hunter Henry. He would also ave Melvin Gordon II in the backfield and also Austin Ekeler. Justin Jackson is also another solid option in that backfield.
Their defense is also very underrated. Joey Bosa is one of the leaders on this defense and they also have guys like Melvin Ingram and Derwin James. Casey Hayward and Desmond King are also two very good cornerbacks on this roster none the less.
The third and final team that comes to mind is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is going to be moving on from Jameis Winston. If they do sign Tom Brady, then I would not see this happening. Head coach Bruce Arians would love to have a gunslinger like Watson on his football team.
He completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 3,852 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
Deshaun Watson also rushed for 413 yards on 82 carries and seven touchdowns.
I don’t think Watson will leave this team, but who knows because he is going to want to get paid soon none the less. It is all going to depend on how much Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes gets paid because he will be the highest-paid player in the league very soon and that will be the deciding factor in this situation.
