San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams: Week 6 Preview

The San Francisco 49ers travel to Los Angeles on Sunday for what should be an eventful and exciting Week 6 divisional matchup against the Rams.

Two NFC West teams will match up this week as the San Francisco 49ers travel to the L.A. Memorial Coliseum to face off with the Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers are currently 4-0 and coming off a huge win over the Cleveland Browns. The Rams are 3-2 and coming off of a defeat in Seattle after missing a game-winning field goal with six seconds remaining in the game.

The Rams have yet to truly find themselves this season, as Gurley isn’t getting as many carries as last season and Jared Goff is struggling. Goff has seven touchdowns with seven interceptions and a 63.1% completion rate. They have scored 69 points in the last two weeks, yet still suffered defeat in both games. Despite being 3-2 this season, they’ve lost two games to good teams who outplayed them both times.

Kyle Shanahan has figured out his offense through the first five weeks, and the 49ers’ defensive front has made huge improvements. The number of times they pressured Baker Mayfield in Week 5 while only rushing four or less was impressive. Rookie Nick Bosa has made himself a force in the NFL. The 2019 No. 2 overall pick had four tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in the 31-3 victory.

Vegas joins the rest of us in being undecided as to who will win this matchup, giving the Rams the benefit of being the home team.

Prediction

The 49ers are coming off a huge win at home and I don’t think the Rams will be able to stop them. Despite being at home, the Rams are struggling and will need huge improvements to come out of Week 6 with a victory.

Final Score: 49ers 34, Rams 24

Balls In The Gutter: We Still Don’t Know Anything After Week 2

The upsets and injuries from Week 2 have us questioning everything we thought we knew and scrambling to bolster our fantasy rosters. We ponder whether the Rams are already cooked with Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, and most of the offensive line going out; what could cause the lack of rookie quarterback production; and worry about the bleak tight end landscape so far.
