Ryan, an unrestricted free agent, spent three years in Nashville and sealed the team’s upset win over the New England Patriots in the AFC Wildcard Game with a pick-six off of Tom Brady.

Many fans have remained optimistic Ryan would return to the Titans secondary. Today’s post closes the door on that possibility.

He joined the Titans in 2017, after spending his first four NFL seasons in Bill Belichick’s defense. Ryan, a two-time champion, was a third-round draft pick by New England in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Rutgers.

Off the field, Ryan is widely known for his charity work. He along with his wife Ashley founded the Nashville based Ryan’s Animal Rescue Foundation in 2017. The foundation helps find homes for shelter pets, as well as abuse and mistreated animals. They also offer educational and financial resources.

Rumors have been floating around that Ryan is returning to his home state of New Jersey and joining the Jets. He totaled four interceptions in his Titans career (all coming this season) and 37 passes defended.

Ryan left with some sage advice to Titans GM Jon Robinson, saying “#PayDerrick”, referring to the team’s feature back Derrick Henry, who was franchised this offseason.
