Rookie Fave Five Fantasy Football edition!

Josh Livi  | March 20th, 2020

It is an extremely difficult time in the world of sports right now. Absolutely NOTHING going on besides NFL free agency. I usually write my Fave Five for NBA DFS, but due to the Covid-19 coronavirus, every single sport has been shut down for the foreseeable future. Not to worry, I am giving you guys my favorite rookies to enter the 2020 NFL Draft.

Quarterback: Joe Burrow– LSU

No surprise he is my favorite quarterback in this draft. Burrow is a 23-year-old 6’4, a 216-pound monster. In his final season at LSU, he completed an absurd 76.28% of his passes. He threw for over 5,000 yards and over 60 touchdowns in the 2019 season. He is the number one overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, and he is going to thrive in whatever team gets him. Paging the Cincinnati Bengals. Make this pick and have your franchise quarterback for years to come!!

Running Back: Jonathan Taylor– Wisconsin

JT is arguably the best and most talented running back to come out for this draft since the New York Giants selected Saquan Barkley. He is a 219-pound freak of nature. In 2019 season alone, he amassed an eye-opening 2,003 rushing yards. He’s a workhorse, proven by his 320 carries last year. He was averaging an insane 6.26 yards per carry!! He is a back that can do it all!

Mind you, those yards and carries attributed to a whopping 21 rushing touchdowns. JT isn’t only a back who can rush the ball. His receiving skills were on full display. Cathing 26 balls for another 252 yards and another five touchdowns! JT is a generational talent, and I’m psyched to see what he is going to do in NFL this year.

Wide Receiver: CeeDee Lamb– Oklahoma

This is a toss-up for me between Lamb and Jerry Jeudy. Both are sensational players. However, I am going to go Lamb here. Lamb is a 6’2, 189-pound beast! He has arguably one of the greatest hands I have ever seen on a player. In 2019, he put up crazy numbers in his final year. He caught 62 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns! He had a whopping average of 21.4 yards per catch! I think the main difference between Jeudy and Lamb will be, Jeudy will be more of a landing spot based player. Whereas Lamb should be a stud wherever he does, regardless of landing spot! He is my favorite receiver in this years draft, and can’t wait for him to put on a show in the NFL!

Tight End: Cole Kmet-Notre Dame

Kmet is a MASSIVE dude. 6’5, 250 pound-force to be reckoned with! He is hands down the best tight end in this year’s draft and it’s not even close. In 2019, Kmet racked up 43 catches, 515 yards, and six touchdowns. He was averaging 11.98 yards per catch! His Combine numbers weren’t that exciting. He ran a 4.7 40-yard dash. The potential is there for him to be the next Jimmy Graham (in his prime). Kmet has great hands, great vision, ok speed and an above-average blocker for someone of his stature. He is another very intriguing prospect that I will be looking forward to him putting on a show in the NFL.

Favorite Individual Defense Player: Chase Young– Ohio State

No one in this year’s NFL draft compares to Young’s freakishly talented make. Young is a superstar on the outside and is waiting to eat and attack opposing teams quarterback. Young is a five-star recruit. At 6’5, 265 pounds, Young can fly!! In 2019, he had 32 solo tackles, 14 assisted tackles and a total of 46 tackles. He had a whopping 16.5 SACKS on the year!! No one in college football was able to stop this behemoth from getting to the quarterback, and I expect him to continue to feast at the next level. Young is my favorite defense player to come out of the NFL Draft in the past few years! He has star written all over him

That does it for this edition of Livi’s Fave Five! Stay tuned for more content as I’ll be doing my five favorite players at every offensive position!
