The New England Revolution re-signed four players, Teal Bunbury, Andrew Farrell, Brad Knighton, and Brian Wright through the 2018 season on Friday.

All four players were originally not announced on the team’s roster when they made their first roster moves of the offseason on Monday Nov. 27th. Wright’s contract option was not exercised, while Bunbury, Farrell, and Knighton were all released to free agency.

General Manager Michael Burns explained the thought process behind these signings in a statement on revolutionsoccer.net.

“We’re pleased to have re-signed veteran presences such as Teal, Andrew, and Brad, they have been and will continue to be important parts of the club,” BurnsΒ said. “In addition, we look forward to bringing back Brian as he continues to grow in his development as a player.”

Bunbury had one of his best season with the Revolution out of his five so far, scoring seven goals in 28 games. He had previously been linked with a movie to Europe, specifically Sweden.

Knighton featured in six games this season, earning one shutout along the way. Wright was drafted by the Revolution in the first round last year, and only made two substitute appearances in the MLS this year.

The Revolution now have 17 out of their total 30 roster spots filled.
