Two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas has shown no shortage of love to the city of Boston since being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers back in the summer of 2017.
Now on the second place Denver Nuggets, Thomas has finally returned to play in TD Garden for the first time in 670 days.
His long-awaited return started last night, when the 5-foot-9 point guard played pickup at Emerson College, in a tight game that included some of our very own writers.
Prior to Monday night’s contest, a video was released of a fan letting Thomas know that his fourth quarter presence has been missed. Thomas replied with three simple, powerful words.
“I’ll be back.”

Thomas, 30, had some unforgettable moments during his two and a half years with the Celtics, including a franchise record of scoring at least 20 points for 43 straight outings.
He bounced around the league last season, and eventually signed a one-year veterans minimum deal with the Nuggets in the offseason, reuniting with his former coach Mike Malone.
With current point guards Kyrie Irving and Terry Rozier becoming free agents this summer, Thomas’s openness to returning to Boston could rekindle the MVP-caliber season he had before being dealt for Irving.
