According to Sports Illustrated’s Ric Bucher, Warriors guard Steph Curry, is unlikely to return this season. The two-time league MVP suffered a broken hand against the Suns on October 31. He suffered the injury after Aron Baynes landed on his hand while falling to the ground.
With Curry out for the season, the Warriors will likely miss the playoffs for the first time since the 2011-12 season. Shooting guard Klay Thompson is also likely out for the season as well as he recovers from a torn ACL he suffered in the NBA Finals last season.
Curry, someone who many picked to win MVP this season, was off to the worst shooting season of his career before the injury.
With Curry out, D’Angelo Russell will likely play point guard, with Jordan Poole and Ky Bowman starting in the backcourt as well.
Golden State is off to an abysmal 2-6 start, and with limited talent left on the roster, they may want to set their eyes on a top lottery pick in next year’s draft.
Update on 11/11: Per Shams Charania of the Atheltic, Stephen Curry expects to play again this season.
