After contemplating retirement, New England Patriots left tackle Nate Solder plans to continue his football career.
Boston Herald’s New England Patriots beat reporter Jeff Howe tweeted out the news just moments ago.
Nate Solder does indeed plan to continue playing football, per sources. There had been speculation over a potential retirement. Negotiations with the Patriots haven’t started yet, but he’s got a couple weeks before free agency.

Solder is indeed a free agent come the start of the league’s fiscal year on Mar.14 and if he wants to, could get a big money contract somewhere else.
While he didn’t have a great season giving up six sacks and 19 hits on quarterback Tom Brady, he was still ranked the 32nd best offensive tackle. As well as being labeled as one of the NFL’s elite run blockers, he’s still the best option as the Patriots have no clear replacement at that position.
Should the Patriots re-sign Solder now that he’s continuing his career? Give us your take in the comments below.
