While he just finished his physical today with the Seattle Seahawks, Adam Schefter broke the news that former Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch will sign with the team, thus ending his retirement.
He had officially retired for the second time back in April 2019 but never filled out his retirement paperwork. He has always kept teams on notice because of that. Beast Mode will be in a huge role from the jump where star running back Chris Carson will be out for the remainder of the season due to a hip injury. While fellow running back C.J Prosise due to an arm injury.
The team also signed running back Robert Turbin for depth chart purposes. The Seahawks face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday that will determine who wins the NFC West division.
Lynch, 33, rushed for 376 yards and three touchdowns in six games with the Raiders last season. He eclipsed 1,200 yards rushing in four consecutive seasons with the Seahawks from 2011 to 2014 and led the NFL in rushing touchdowns in 2013 and 2014.
“He’s had plenty of time to be working and get ready in case something came up, and I’m anxious to see him when we get him here,” “There’s a lot of history here that’s great history. There was nobody that ever amplified the kind of mentality and toughness that we like to play with, so if we get a chance to get the Beast back on the field, we’ll see how that works out.” Head coach Pete Carrol said during an interview on Monday.
