Report: Safety Indicted on Drug Charges

It wouldn’t be a Patriots training camp without a little bit of drama.

That drama came ahead of tonight’s preseason Week 3 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, as safety Patrick Chung was indicted on cocaine possession in New Hampshire back on June 25.

Chung wasn’t at practice on Wednesday, and Patriots officials didn’t offer initial comment on his whereabouts.

While it isn’t entirely certain when the incident took place involving Chung, this is a potentially massive blow to a Patriots secondary viewed as strength to the team.

The Meredith Police Chief Kevin Morrow released his findings to the public saying that the safety has not been arrested yet.

“[He] did possess or have under his control a quantity of the controlled substance cocaine” Morrow said. “[Chung] was not arrested and there is no photo to provide.”

He is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday, per Adam Schefter.

The team has released a statement regarding the matter.
