Formerly chosen in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, Nassib was claimed off of waivers by the Buccaneers at the start of the 2018 NFL season.
The former Penn State product played his way into a starting role eventually, starting nine games for Tampa Bay in 2018 and another eight in 2019 due to the early-season absence of Jason Pierre-Paul.
While in Tampa, Nassib tallied 63 tackles (46 solo), 20 tackles for loss, and 12.5 sacks as a part-time starter.
Nassib’s game is built around his considerable length and non-stop motor. He has also developed a reputation as a fantastic locker room presence.
With the Raiders, Nassib will revert to his natural position as a hand-in-the-ground defense end in an even front. He played in even fronts in both college and for the Browns before converting to a stand-up edge in Tampa Bay’s 3-4 odd base.
Nassib will likely resume a rotational role, similar to his time in Tampa, behind second-year players Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby.
