Ever since the Los Angeles Chargers decided to move on from Philip Rivers, the speculation regarding his landing spot has been rampant.
Many have chimed in on where the 16-year veteran quarterback could end up. Rivers has said he wants to continue playing. With him relocating his family to Florida in the past week or so, the leading speculated destination is Tampa Bay. After all, Jameis Winston’s contract is up and his reported asking price is a steep one. Plus, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has had success with reviving veteran quarterbacks who are past their prime, such as Carson Palmer.
But the latest rumor has picked up steam in the last day or two. The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly extremely interested in Rivers leading their offense.

This is surprising because 2019 was a season that was expected to be one pretty much in ruins after Andrew Luck announced his retirement shortly before the start of the season, but Jacoby Brissett seemed to handle the added pressure in him very well. Up until injuries started to pile up on the offensive side of the ball as well as the secondary being depleted, they were leading the AFC South.
Could the Colts have soured on Brissett after a solid season? Or is the prospect of Rivers too much for the front office and coaching staff to pass up? One thing is for sure: Rivers’s price tag shouldn’t be astronomical. But what does that ultimately mean for Brissett? He could be the odd man out in Indy and be added to the pool of free agent quarterbacks.
