The New England Patriots have the the No.1 ranked defensive in the National Football League but that did not stop them from looking for more help.
Per reports, the team reportedly worked out defensive tackle Joel Heath.
The Patriots had free-agent DL Joel Heath (Michigan State/Texans) in for a workout today. The club is always updating emergency lists and also has room on the practice squad at this time.

Heath, 26, went undrafted in 2016 and joined the Houston Texans as a rookie free agent.
In his first year with the Texans, Heath most notably recorded two sacks in their Week 17 matchup against the Tennessee Titans making him the sixth rookie in franchise history to record two sacks in one game. The first since Whitney Mercilus in 2012.
As stated by ESPN reporter Mike Reiss, the team does have practice squad room and they do like to keep their options open in case of injury.
The team has Lawrence Guy and John Simon listed as the current starting defensive ends with Deatrich Wise Jr. and Chase Winovich as reserves.
