Report: Patriots Sign Tight End

A day after trading away wide receiver Brandin Cooks, the New England Patriots are continuing to be active as they have signed tight end Troy Niklas.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport, tweeted out the report within the hour.

Niklas (25), is a Notre Dame product known for his exceptional blocking skills and had his best season catching the ball last season with 11 receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown.

The Patriots now have the following tight ends on their roster.

  1. Rob Gronkowski
  2. Dwayne Allen
  3. Jacob Hollister
  4. Will Tye
  5. Troy Niklas
