The New England Patriots have thinned out their wide receiver corp a little more.
Per ESPN reporter Mike Reiss, the team granted Dontrelle Inman is released after his second preseason game with the team.
Inman, 30, is not the first receiver to wear No.15 to request a release. Future Hall of Fame wide receiver Reggie Wayne wore the number with the team in 2015. After the last preseason game, Wayne requested his release from the team which was granted.
Inman was a signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia. He went to the CFL as a member of the Toronto Argonauts where he won the 100th Grey Cup with the team.
He blew up with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers catching 58 passes for 910 yards and four scores.
His last productive season was with the Indianapolis Colts where he had 28 receptions for 304 yards and three touchdowns.
The Patriots are now left with N’Keal Harry, Jakobi Meyers, Braxton Berrios, Maurice Harris, Damoun Patterson, Gunner Olszewski, and Ryan Davis
Demaryius Thomas and Cameron Meredith are on the PUP while Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman are on the NFI list.
