Report: Patriots Place Rookie on Injured Reserve, Re-Sign Thomas

It has been a rocky start for the New England Patriots’ first-round draft pick.

Per Adam Schefter, the Super Bowl champions are placing wide receiver N’Keal Harry on short-term injured reserve.

Harry, 21, injured his ankle during a preseason outing and has favored it ever since.

The Arizona State alum’s season is not over as he is eligible to return in Week 9.

In addition, the Patriots re-signed Demaryius Thomas in wake of Harry’s IR placement.

Even though Thomas’ release was among the surprise cuts of the Summer, the door remained open for a return.

Concern arose for the Patriots and their fans when rumors swirled of a Thomas/Denver Broncos reunion but recent developments have squandered that idea.

The Patriots now have Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Demaryius Thomas, Phillip Dorsett, Gunner Olszewski, and Matthew Slater in place as their opening day receivers.
