The Miami Heat clearly needs an upgrade at the power forward position. So far, Miami has tried Kelly Olynyk, Moe Harkless, KZ Okpala, and Andre Iguodala. All players have been inconsistent in their roles so far. Olynyk is currently starting at the four and he’s constantly getting killed on the glass. Offensively, you never know what you’re going to get from him. Miami needs a player who can play next to Bam Adebayo as a floor spacer and/or a defender. The team has been scouring the trade market for frontcourt help.
According to Five Reasons Sports’ Adam Borai, the team has expressed interested in San Antonio Spurs forward Rudy Gay. His teammate LaMarcus Aldridge is also an option.
The Heat have expressed interest in trading for Rudy Gay, per sources.
There are multiple players on the Spurs that can be had for very little. Lamarcus Aldridge is also an option. Both Gay & LMA are on expiring deals. Heat have multiple contracts to help match@5ReasonsSports

Gay is currently averaging 11.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game off the bench for the Spurs. Although the Spurs are playing well, it seems likely that Gay would be the piece moved if the team decides to make a trade. The fact that his position is loaded paired with his expiring contract could tempt San Antonio to see what they can get for him.
With the Heat struggling so far this season, expect Miami to be mentioned in many trade rumors over the next few weeks. Miami is determined to build a competitive team around Jimmy Butler and Bam. It’s very possible the team could either shake things up or make a small move to help the team. This is a team that clearly needs to make a move. We’ll see if Pat Riley and the front office can shake things up.
