With a surplus of running back depth, the Kansas City Chiefs have elected to trade running back DeAndre Washington to the Miami Dolphins.
Washington has barely played for Kansas City this season and would be a non-factor with Le’Veon Bell and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Washington was a fifth-rounder in 2016 for the then Oakland Raiders and was signed by the Chiefs this offseason.
In exchange for Washington, the Dolphins will flip a sixth for a seventh-round pick in 2021. The move effectively cost neither team much. The Chiefs get something for a player sitting on the bench while the Dolphins had some depth at running back behind Myles Gaskin.
Full terms: #Chiefs are trading RB DeAndre Washington and a 2021 7th-round pick to the #Dolphins for a 2021 6th-round pick, per @AlbertBreer.

There were only two trades today and the Dolphins were in on both, also sending wide receiver Isaiah Ford to the New England Patriots for a 2022 seventh-round pick.
