Report: Jets Sign Frank Gore

The New York Jets have added a veteran running back to their offense in the form of 36-year-old Frank Gore, who is nearing the end of a truly remarkable career that saw him go from the third round to (eventually) the Hall of Fame.

Last season with the Buffalo Bills, Gore rushed for 599 yards on 166 attempts and added three touchdowns while playing behind the young Devin Singletary.

Gore spent the 2018 season with Adam Gase’s Miami Dolphins and now rejoins Gase with the Jets. Prior to 2018, he spent the bulk of his illustrious career with the San Francisco 49ers from 2005 until 2014. From 2015 through 2017, he played for the Indianapolis Colts.

Gore has made it to five Pro Bowls, all coming prior to 2013. He was named a Second-Team All-Pro in 2006, which was only his second year in the league. Gore has amassed 79 rushing touchdowns and also notched 18 receiving touchdowns on 3,896 receiving yards. His versatility is an asset that has made him who he is.

Third in the all-time rushing yards list, Gore’s 15,347 yards sits behind just Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton.

Gore will now help lessen the load on Le’Veon Bell and slot in above rookie La’Mical Perine, who was selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. He will also look to add more anecdotes to his truly remarkable career and hope to bring the Jets some winning football for the first time in several years.
