After stocking up on linemen for much of last week, Joe Douglas and the Jets don’t look like they are taking their foot off the gas pedal.
The team has signed 30-year-old offensive guard Greg Van Roten, joining George Fant, Alex Lewis, and Connor McGovern on a freshly minted offensive line.

The Jets now appear to have strong protection in front of Sam Darnold in 2020. From left-to-right, the Jets will have Alex Lewis, Connor McGovern, and now Van Roten with George Fant and a potential rookie filling out the last two spots.
Van Roten went undrafted in 2012 and signed on with the Packers, where he spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
He played a total of 10 games in those two seasons and was then released. He then didn’t play on an NFL field until 2017 when he signed with the Panthers, where he started 27 out of 37 games across three years.
Van Roten even played 100 percent of offensive snaps during the 2018 season, showcasing his durability and importance to a team’s success –– which the Jets are hoping he’ll do for them.
