The COVID-19 pandemic has struck Texas football.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Ezekiel Elliott and several other Texas-based NFL players have contracted COVID-19.

Rapoport added that none of the players are believed to have been at their team facilities.

The exact number of players that contracted the disease is unknown but Elliott’s agent, Rocky Arceneaux, confirmed that his client is among those to test positive.

According to the report, both teams did follow proper health protocols. Texas is currently experiencing a major rise in new cases over the past several days including setting highs of new cases in six of the past seven days.

Elliott is reportedly feeling good but the team couldn’t discuss his status due to privacy laws.

One of the best running backs in the league, Elliott has added 5,405 yards and an average of nearly 100 yards per game over the course of his career.
