Report: Dodgers Looking to Acquire Max Scherzer and Trea Turner

The Washington Nationals have one trade piece that has probably generated the most interest of anyone on the MLB trade market. That player is Max Scherzer. The ace has been scouted by many teams over his last couple of starts, including today.

On Thursday, Scherzer spun six innings of three-hit and one-run ball while striking out five. With that game, his record now stands at 8-4 with a 2.76 ERA in 111 innings. He’s amassed 147 strikeouts and a 0.89 WHIP. One can understand why the 37-year-old All-Star is the most sought-after on the market.

After a long time of waiting for the San Diego Padres to complete what seemed to be a done deal, the Los Angeles Dodgers stepped in and annulled that in a big way.

Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Dodgers are close to acquiring Max Scherzer and Trea Turner from the Nationals in exchange for a large prospect package.

This would give the Dodgers a rotation that includes Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, Julio Urias, and David Price to go with Max Scherzer.

Los Angeles would also have a lineup that includes Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner, and now Trea Turner.

Top prospects Keibert Ruiz and Josiah Gray are among the package heading back to Washington.
