The Tennessee Titans are vying for a playoff spot and while their pursuit for one will remain alive next week, they essentially need a win if they want a realistic chance to keep playing football.
To get a win, they need health and all hands on deck, which means that it is quite unfortunate for the Titans that star running back Derrick Henry will be a no-go on Sunday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was first to report that Henry would be inactive after the running back was downgraded to questionable with a hamstring injury on Saturday.
Titans’ RB Derrick Henry, downgraded to questionable on Saturday due to a hamstring injury, is not expected to play today vs. Saints, per source.

Henry was recently selected to his first career Pro Bowl. 2019 is Henry’s fourth year in the NFL and arguably his best after he started to show off his talents in 2018. This year, he has made 14 starts and leads the league with 271 carries. He has 1,329 yards on the ground and 13 scores while also amassing 18 catches on 24 targets through the air for 206 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Dion Lewis will serve as the starting running back with Khari Blasingame in the backup role. In anticipation of Henry being inactive, the Titans promoted Dalyn Dawkins from the practice squad to serve as the No. 3 running back.
As the backup the entire season, Lewis has 38 carries for 134 yards. However, the bulk of his action has come through the air in the form of 24 catches for 145 yards. Presumably, Lewis will spend most of the game working the ground game but should see a handful of targets. Dawkins will work in the ground game while Blasingame will get attention through the air.
