Another defensive end has bid farewell to New England.
Adrian Clayborn who played a role as a situational rusher for the team, published a statement via his Twitter account thanking the organization following his release .
Thank you @Patriots for my time with the organization. I gained so much respect for how you do things and win championships. It’s done the right way through hard work. Thank you for granting my release. I’m ready for this next chapter.

Clayborn played in 14 games and started in only one. His two and a half sacks paled in comparison to his nine and a half sack season in 2017.
The Patriots released Clayborn in all likelihood because of his $5,937,500 cap hit he would have caused. There was a potential out at the end of this past season and because of his disappointing play, the team chose that route.
