The injury bug has come up and bit the New England Patriots once again.
Per ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the team is likely going to be without their best slot cornerback in their divisional meeting with the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.
CB Jonathan Jones (groin) was not spotted for the media-access portion of practice. He is expected to be ruled out for Saturday.
Per @NextGenStats, Jones has the lowest completion % against him of any of the 24 CBs who have defended more than 30 passes from the slot this year.

Statistically as reported by Reiss, Jones has been incredibly important the Patriots in the slot.
Jones suffered a groin injury against the Cincinnati Bengals and was seen gingerly walking off of the field.
With Stephon Gilmore and J.C. Jackson penciled in as the two starting cornerbacks, the team will likely need to decide on Jason McCourty, Justin Bethel or JoeJuan Williams to fill the void in the slot.
