Report: Celtics Waive Walt Lemon Jr.

Walt Lemon Jr.’s stint in Boston will not be remembered for long, as the Celtics waived the guard on Thursday.

Lemon signed in late July to a two-way contract, with it being no secret that the majority of his playing time would come as a member of Boston’s G-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.

Sure enough, that remained the case as the 26-year-old averaged 23.5 points and 5.6 assists in Maine.

His quest to find even a semi-permanent landing spot will now continue, after starting his professional career in Europe and spending some time last season with the New Orleans Pelicans.
