The Brewers will receive multiple players to be named later in the deal, with all three rumored to be low-level system pitchers.
Phillies will trade multiple low-level pitchers to Milwaukee, all PTBNL. Could be two or three, according to sources.
Phelps is a Girardi favorite. He has a $4.5 MM club option for 2021. https://t.co/7c3MQyNFac

The Brewers have severely underperformed this season and currently sit in third place in the NL Central. There have been rumors that star closer Josh Hader would be dealt before the deadline, but it appears that the big move for Milwaukee will be shipping Phelps off to the Phillies.
Phelps has been phenomenal for the Brewers this season, improving in almost every category while stabilizing an otherwise volatile bullpen.

Phelps has been consistent in his eight years of MLB service, posting a career 3.83 ERA and serving in key roles for playoff teams in New York and Chicago.
With the Phillies’ bullpen blowing key lead after key lead for the club in 2020, this is an extremely important move. Although most fans would appreciate a deal in addition to this, Philadelphia will absolutely improve after this transaction.
