The fan-favorite wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell, has been out of commission the entire season due to a lingering knee injury but recent reports seem to be promising.
Mitchell started practicing 13 days ago which gives the team until Saturday to activate him or he will be put on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick gave an update on the Georgia alum during an interview today saying that he has been doing whatever is expected of him.
“Seen him out there trying to get back into practice and do the things he’s asked to do,” Belichick said to NESN.com.
Unfortunately news wasn’t that great today as according to a tweet from NESN reporter Zack Cox from inside the stadium, Mitchell was not seen on the practice field.
Mike Gillislee and Malcolm Mitchell both missing from today’s Patriots practice. Everyone else present.
Based on Belichick’s comments this morning, I’d say Mitchell’s chances of playing this week are slim. pic.twitter.com/tcXE4mwCKj

Prediction:
While he was indeed out of practice today, Mitchell has been consistently out on the field at full strength and with that being said the belief is that their is a strong possibility he will indeed be ready to go.
According to a promising development from Zack Cox “a Patriots equipment staffer walked through the locker room with a Malcolm Mitchell game jersey.”
If you are a betting man or woman, odds are he will indeed play in the AFC Divisional matchup against Tennessee on Saturday.
