Report: Ainge Takes DiVincenzo to Lunch After Pre-Draft Workout

Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge took Villanova guard Donte DiVincenzo to lunch after his workout with the team on Monday, according to Adam Zagoria of the New York Times.

In 29.3 minutes per game last season, Divincenzo averaged 13.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists on his way to being named the Big East Sixth Man of the Year. Divincenzo capped off this past season with 31 points against Michigan in the National Championship game, a 79-62 Villanova win.

After a strong NBA Combine, the 6-foot-5 guard is looking likely to be a first-round pick, though he still has until the end of the month to decide whether he will return to Villanova for his junior season.

 

If he does elect to enter the draft, there appears to be a strong possibility the Celtics would look to take him with their 27th overall pick.
