Report: Al Horford Unhappy with Role in Philadelphia

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

The Philadelphia 76ers have not lived up to the hype that the team received during the offseason on either side of the ball.

Philly has had a hard time closing out games as they have lost three out of their last four and are 4-6 over their last 10 games. Opposing teams are having little difficulty defending a team that hasn’t had the will to shoot the ball.

Offseason acquisition Al Horford has had limited pick-and-roll options despite that being his bread and butter move on the court. His numbers are down as well.

“I’m out [there] for the team and doing what I can to help us,” Horford related in a recent interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey. “But offensively, I’m very limited with the things that I can do. So, I can’t control that stuff.”

When Philadelphia signed him to the massive four-year contract, fans were boggled by his numbers. While they have never truly been amazing, he does a lot of things you won’t find on a stat sheet, which is why he and Marcus Smart were beloved in Boston.

He will be stuck with his decision for a while until the 76ers make a move to help with the second half of the season.

Don’t get too worried yet, though, as anything can happen in the NBA.
