The 49ers are parting ways with Pierre Garçon, according to NFL Network.
Garçon signed a five-year, 47.5-million-dollar deal in 2017. Garçon would have made 5.65 million in 2019. The move comes with a $7.2 million cap hit according to OverTheCap.com. Garçon played in 16 total games in two seasons for the team.
Garçon was a big help for the coaching staff. His experience in Kyle Shanahan’s scheme was important for the young receiver group in San Francisco. His departure leaves Marquise Goodwin as the teams most accomplished receiver and Dante Pettis as the only starter on the roster.
Garçon amassed 64 receptions, 786 yards, and one touchdown in his 16 games for the 49ers. His career totals are 628 receptions, 7,854 yards, and 38 touchdowns.
