The San Fransisco 49ers are bringing back a key piece to their defensive line by inking a deal with Arik Armstead.
The #49ers are giving star DL Arik Armstead a 5-year deal, sources say, avoiding the franchise tag and locking him up long-term. He gets up to $85M on his new deal.💰💰💰

Armstead played all 16 games for San Fransisco last season and dominated opposing offensive lines with 10 sacks. His breakout season no doubt contributed to the impressive Super Bowl run the Niners made.
Next year, alongside defensive linemen Nick Bosa and Deforrest Buckner, Armstead can continue his successes and possibly earn himself a ring. Further, he will surely be a frontrunner in the Defensive Player of the Year race.
The sky is the limit for the 25 year old out of Oregon. Without having to worry about getting paid anymore, football fans are looking forward to watching Armstead do his thing in the Niners’ red and gold jerseys for the next half-decade.
