Real Madrid is coming off of another season that ended in disappointing fashion. Los Blancos have just not been the same since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018. In other words, they are far from being the team they were a few years ago. The Los Blancos team that won three straight UEFA Champions League titles from 2016-2018 is long gone.
Although Real Madrid was able to secure the La Liga title last season, their elimination from the Champions League in the Round of 16 is a bad image for the 13-time champions of Europe. In addition, exiting the tournament in the Round of 16 for two years straight is just another bad image. Los Blancos really are going through hard times.
The last 13 UCL’s in a row have been won by either:

What Is Expected Of The Club This Season?
Strong and positive results on the pitch. The club will look to win a second consecutive La Liga title for the first time since the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 seasons. Los Blancos would love nothing more than to prevent Barcelona from winning the title. For Real Madrid, it’s about always being more than one step ahead. Furthermore, they’re always looking to outshine and outperform their longtime arch-rivals.
Another expectation is a better performance and a deeper run in the Champions League. In Real Madrid’s case, it’s bad enough that they have to live with the fact that they’ve gone from winning the title three times in a row to falling in the Round of 16 in consecutive years. At this point, Los Blancos are more determined than ever than to avenge their last two heartbreaking eliminations. The best way to do it would be to win the title for the 14th time.
The club is desperately hoping for Eden Hazard to stay healthy. Hazard’s first season in the Spanish capital was dreadful as the Belgian winger struggled with injuries. Last season, Hazard made only 22 appearances(16 in La Liga play), scoring just one goal. Los Blancos invested a fortune in Hazard, so it’s absolutely imperative that he stays healthy and plays effectively on the pitch.
La Liga begins next month. The 2020-2021 Champions League will begin in October. Real Madrid needs a strong and healthy squad if they are to achieve tremendous success this season.
