The Boston Celtics and Miami Heat met for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday night. Just like the previous game, Boston had a huge double-digit lead early on. They outplayed the Heat on both ends of the floor in the first half, shooting 58 percent from the field and outscoring Miami 32-18 in the paint.
But again, just like the last game, Miami never gave up. After the Celtics got out to a comfortable lead, Miami stormed back and came away with a 106-101 victory. With the win, Miami now leads 2-0 in the series.
Dragic strikes again
Where would this team be without Goran Dragic? Time and time again, Dragic has come through for the Heat this postseason and he did it again for Miami in Game 2. The Celtics had no answer for the Heat point guard who, whenever he had a mismatch, would either attack the basket or hit the stepback jumper. With less than two minutes left in the game, he hit a huge three-pointer to extend Miami’s lead as the shot clock expired.

Dragic finished with 25 points, three rebounds, and five assists.
The Duncan Robinson game
We were waiting for the moment Duncan Robinson broke out of his shooting slump. Spoiler alert: it came. Robinson opened the game with three straight three-pointers and moved very well without the basketball to get open. He had 12 points on four of six shooting from downtown in the first quarter. He would go on to hit six three-pointers for the night.

Robinson finished the night with 18 points on six-for-12 shooting from downtown.
Huge third quarter
Normally, the third quarter is terrible for Miami. However, the third frame was much better this time around. After a lackluster defensive effort in the first half, Miami picked up the defensive intensity in the second half. The Heat’s zone played a huge role in disrupting the Celtics’ offense in the quarter as they shot four of 12 from the field and committed seven turnovers. No Celtics player had more than one basket in the quarter.
Miami outscored the Celtics by a score of 37-17 in the third quarter to take an 84-77 lead into the fourth and final frame.
Adebayo overcomes rough start
It wasn’t a good start for Bam Adebayo on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he kept missing easy bunnies near the paint. He also didn’t do a good job protecting the paint, which the Celtics dominated early on. However, the Heat star came alive in the third quarter. He was more active defensively and dominated the paint on the offensive end. Adebayo scored 15 points in the period and finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.
