The Miami Heat are on a four-game winning streak after defeating the Houston Rockets on Thursday. The game started off poor for Miami as they scored just 19 points in the first quarter. However, the Heat picked up their defensive intensity and the three-point shots started falling in the second half. Even though the Rockets came back in the game, Miami was able to stay ahead and close the victory. Miami is now 11-14 after Thursday’s win.
Here are three takeaways from Thursday’s game.
Jimmy leads the way
The good news for the Heat is that Jimmy Butler seems to be in playoff form. He continues to be aggressive on both ends of the floor. He is constantly attacking the basket and drawing fouls. Butler also did a good job finding his teammates. He ended up recording a triple-double in the game. The problem is the team has been bad whenever he sits. Miami is going to need someone else to step up.

Butler finished the night with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Bam struggles
Bam Adebayo struggled to get going offensively, failing to develop any type of rhythm. He could not take advantage of the mismatches he had. For example, he had Danuel House in the post but passed right back out. He’s always looking for the pass instead of looking at the basket. Adebayo needs to look to score more, especially with Miami missing two key point-getters in Tyler Herro and Goran Dragic.
Adebayo finished with 10 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists.
The Strus is loose
Tyler Herro’s absence opened up more minutes for guys like Max Strus, who definitely took advantage of the opportunity. He was on fire, making five three-pointers, and also dunked on John Wall. He provided a huge boost off the bench for the Heat on Thursday.
