Pickard’s Sunday Picks: Week 11

There is an exciting slate of 12 games on Sunday. Here are final score predictions for all of the Week 10 Sunday contests, with reasoning.

Keep track of my “Sunday Score” all season long. This weighted formula gives me five points for every correct outcome. For every team whose score I predict exactly correct, I get an additional three points. Here’s how I’ve fared so far:

Sunday Score: 429

Winner/Loser picked correctly: 72/125

Week 11

New York Jets 17, Washington Redskins 20

I have absolutely no clue which team is better. They’re both essentially awful and this will be an extremely sloppy football game. I’ll give Washington the edge because they’re playing at home, but I really have no clue what to expect.

New Orleans Saints 27, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21

The Saints’ loss to the Falcons last week was definitely worrisome, but they should be able to get things together this week and prove that their loss to Atlanta was merely a fluke.

Denver Broncos 18, Minnesota Vikings 26

The Broncos will make this one close, but Kirk Cousins will continue to play great football through the air while Dalvin Cook proceeds to run crazy over Denver’s defense. In the end, it will be Minnesota with the win.

Buffalo Bills 21, Miami Dolphins 20

The Bills have lived up to what many imagined (or feared, depending on who you are): most of their wins came courtesy of an easy schedule. They should be able to snap Miami’s winning streak this week, but it will be a close, hard-fought game.

Jacksonville Jaguars 24, Indianapolis Colts 21

Jacoby Brissett returns this week but it will be more of the same for the Colts, who lose their third straight game and fall out of playoff contention, surrendering that second spot to the victors of this game, the Jaguars.

Dallas Cowboys 17, Detroit Lions 10

The Cowboys have been playing some very rusty football lately. Heck, they even lost to primetime Kirk Cousins last week. With that said, they’re going up against a Jeff Driskel-led team that couldn’t even beat the struggling Bears. Dallas will boost their record with this one.

Atlanta Falcons 10, Carolina Panthers 30

The Falcons are banged up all around: on offense and on defense. Meanwhile, the Panthers are coming off a loss to the Packers that saw them come one inch shy of a chance to tie the game with seconds remaining. Carolina should steamroll Atlanta.

Houston Texans 24, Baltimore Ravens 28

This is going to be another one of those great football games. We’ll see a lot of back-and-forth and a lot of scoring. In the end, Lamar Jackson will dissect an injury-riddled Houston defense the same way he dissected the league’s best defense a few weeks ago in New England.

Arizona Cardinals 21, San Francisco 49ers 27

I flirted with giving the injury-riddled Niners just a one-point win but decided to give them a bit more security at home. Still, with Matt Breida, Emmanuel Sanders, and George Kittle unlikely to play, San Francisco needs to be careful and not get too cocky until the clock strikes double zeros.

New England Patriots 24, Philadelphia Eagles 20

The Patriots will only be able to beat Philadelphia by four when all is said in done, but the final score will be a garbage-time touchdown. Philadelphia will be playing from behind for this entire game and will fail to pull ahead.

Cincinnati Bengals 16, Oakland Raiders 30

I’ve known for many weeks that the Bengals aren’t going to be winners any time soon, but I still generously predict them to have four scoring drives. In reality, this game will be in Oakland’s hands from start to finish.

Chicago Bears 20, Los Angeles Rams 27

The Bears have played some really ugly football as of late. Los Angeles is without Brandin Cooks again, but the Bears could lack David Montgomery pending a final medical review tomorrow. This should easily be won by L.A.

2024 NFL Bold Predictions: AFC West

The AFC West had little to talk about beyond the Kansas City Chiefs. The Los Angeles Charges have been the next closest team to make something happen, but they inevitably fall short. The Denver Broncos have been what some might call a dumpster fire or a QB carousel, and the Las Vegas Raiders have been…well…Raidering.
