Patriots Place All-Pro on Injured Reserve, Make Flurry of Moves

Just a day after signing Kenny Britt to bring much needed reinforcements to their team, the New England Patriots announced that they have placed All-Pro right tackle on injured reserve keeping him out for the rest of the season.

Cannon had started the first seven out of the eight games of the season only to the next five due to his lingering injury.

The Patriots have used Stanford alum Cameron Fleming and a blocking tight end to keep that side of the line afloat.

In his place, the Patriots brought back defensive tackle Ricky-Jean Francois. Francois recorded two tackles on the interior defensive line in the three games played with the team.

In addition the Patriots waived wide receiver/punt returner Bernard Reedy and Jonathan Freeny rounding out the roster and leaving the one spot open. Presumably for the now suspended Rob Gronkowski.
