Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn was involved in a car accident on his way to practice Wednesday morning.
Nobody involved in the accident was transported by medical personnel. Horn later arrived at the team facility and observed practice from the side.

Head coach Dave Canales said that Horn required stitches in his left thumb. In addition to missing practice on Wednesday, the cornerback won’t play in Friday’s preseason opener.
This update from Canales comes as no surprise. With the season over a month away, there’s no reason to overwork Horn when he’s dealing with any minor effects of the accident.
Canales did note that Horn could participate in drills, but the team will wait and see.
Horn, a first-round pick and four-year NFL veteran, made his first Pro Bowl last season. He started 15 games with 68 tackles, 13 passes defended, one interception, and two sacks.

The Panthers had a joint practice with the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday. The two teams will open their preseason schedule against each other on Friday in Charlotte.
