NHL DFS DraftKings Ice Picks October 10th, 2019

Joel Dorcas | October 10th, 2019

Thursday night is a full schedule for some puck action. All toll we have 11 games to choose from. There is bound to be a game or two you can bounce back and forth with the Thursday night NFL offering which could get out of reach with the Patriots envolved. My projections forecast Tampa Bay and Toronto, San Jose/ Chicago, St. Louis at Ottawa and Edmonton at Jersey as great games to target for offensive production. Sharpen the skates, time for Ice Picks!

Core Must-Haves

Steven Stamkos W TB $7,000

The Leafs and the Lightning are primmed to be an exciting tilt between two offenses which ranked very high in scoring last season. The Leafs tend to allow too many shots and they are sure to have their hands full in this one. Stamkos at this price is a nice pivot off of the more expensive Nikita Kucherov. Stamkos has shinned versus the Maple Leafs over his career notching 44 points and 19 goals in 39 games versus the “Buds”.

Mitch Marner W TOR $7,300

Sticking with TOR/TB we have newly signed winger Mitch Marner. Marner has started the season off in fine fashion registering five points and 15 shots on net which ranks him second on the team just a few shy of the more expensive Auston Matthews. Marner is known more as a playmaker which lends him more to the assist column then the goal column, but perhaps this season he will look to shoot more if the early season numbers are any indication. Also in Toronto’s favor, the Lightning are struggling through some early season issues by allowing 36.3 shots per game.

Vladimir Tarasenko W STL $7,100

Ah yes, time to pounce on the bottom feeders of the league, which to be fair, we don’t really know yet, but we are inclined to think the Ottawa Senators will b a part of this group. Just two games played for the Sens but they are trending toward’s last season pace by allowing 4.5 goals per game and 36 shots against per game. Tarensenko, who is easily the Blues best offensive weapon, has fired seven goals in 11 career games versus Ottawa.

Money Savers

Mikhail Sergachev D TB $3,900

Guys like Sergachev, and for last season at least, Rasmus Dahlin, are a couple of my favorite value plays. They possess elite talent but are very young and are just now gaining valuable experience. Sergachev is averaging a modest 17 minutes per game and is actually leading the team in scoring with four points going into this clash of elite Eastern Conference teams.

Duncan Keith D CHI $4,000

Keith is still an effective defenseman for this year’s version of the Chicago Blackhawks who will be in a good spot to produce versus a struggling San Jose Sharks squad. The Sharks have allowed 4.25 goals per contest in the early going. Keith is the leader of this defensive group and should get plenty of minutes in the home opener. He offers decent upside in shots and blocks as well.

Zack Kassian W EDM $4,500

Kassian’s price is almost past the value tier but he is definitely worth the mention. Kassian is getting first-line minutes alongside the best player in the world Connor McDavid and it is finally clicking for the bruising forward. Difficult to say if this will continue but the match-up is nice and the Oilers are rolling.

Stack em’

  1. Chicago Blackhawks-Kane(w), Toews(C), Keith(D), Strome(W)
  2. St.Louis Blues-O’Reilly(C), Perron(W), Tarasenko(W), Faulk(D)
  3. Toronto Maple Leafs-Matthews(C), Marner(W), Nylander(W), Ceci(D)

Good luck to everyone tonight, keep grinding out those lineups!

NHL DFS DraftKings Ice Picks November 13th, 2019

This evenings’ slate of five games has been trimmed down to three. The ever-improving Chicago Blackhawks travel to Vegas to play the struggling Golden Knights. The Senators visit the New Jersey Devils in a game that has more appeal than it would a few weeks ago as both teams are making small strides to improve. Finally, in what could be the game of the night, the Washington Capitals will square off with divisional rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers. Lace-em’up ladies and gents, time to make some Ice Picks!
