Six game slate for Sunday. Two games at 4 p.m., two games at 5 p.m., and you guessed it, two games at 8 p.m. All times eastern. My focus will be players from Vegas, Dallas/Winnipeg, Washington/Detroit, and Chicago/Pittsburgh.
At the Core
Paul Stastny C VGK/ $6,200
Paul Stastny is clearly the team’s best player of late. Over his last 10 contests, Stastny has amassed five goals and five assists, easily leading the Knights.
Evgeny Kuznetsov C WAS/ $6,700
Kuznetsov has been reunited with Alex Ovechkin. This is an ultra-talented duo. Once these guys get rolling, they are virtually unstoppable. The Red Wings are in a tailspin right now giving up goals at a high rate, 27 goals allowed over their last six games, yikes!
Patrick Kane W CHI/ $8,000
Kane scored in the Hawks O.T. loss to the Islanders giving him eight goals over his last seven games. Kane has been red hot of late and is a pretty good bet to hit the score sheet.
Sidney Crosby C PIT/ $7,900
Difficult to not have Sid in your lineup against a weak Chicago Blackhawks squad. They rank toward the bottom of the league in shots and goals against. Crosby is filling up the score sheet over his last five games with three goals and seven assists.
Kris Letang D PIT/ $6,400
Letang is having a brilliant season and is priced $500 less than superstar teammate Evgeni Malkin and is also out-producing the slick Russian forward. Over the Pens last five games Letang has more points and blocks then Malkin. Over those games, Letang has two goals, six assists, 11 blocks and just over 25 minutes of ice time. Letang is a borderline lock on this slate.
Stacks of the Night
1.Pittsburgh Penguins
Letang(D), Crosby(C), Malkin(C), Simon(W)
Penguins are playing their best hockey of the season and are red hot, they are gunning for their ninth consecutive win.
2. Vegas Golden Knights
Statsny(C), Schmidt(D), Eakin(C), Marchessault(W)
Golden Knights are rolling at home, they are 13-6, averaging 3.21 goals per game. Their opponent, New Jersey Devils are 5-16 on the road allowing 3.86 gpg.
3.Washington Capitals
Ovechkin(W), Kuznetsov(C), Wilson(W), Kempney(D)-cheaper alternative to Carlson
Capitals are strong on the road, 12-8, averaging 3.40 goals per game.
Value Plays
Dominik Simon W PIT/ $3,700
Team leading 18 shots over the last five games. Two goals and an assist over those games on a line with Malkin and Hornqvist.
Jack Roslovic W WPG/ $2,500
Roslovic steps into Nicolaj Ehlers spot on the second line with Patrik Laine and Bryan Little.
Cody Eakin C VGK/ $4,200
Nothing too spectacular here, one goal and two helpers over the last five. What makes this an interesting play is according to daily faceoff, Eakin will get first line power play minutes alongside Shea Theodore.
As always thanks for reading, good luck with your roster builds!
