Welcome back into Ice Picks. Tonight we have a very full schedule. All toll there is 12 games on the docket. Here are the games that we think can go off for lots of offense; Tampa Bay at Florida, San Jose at Nashville, Detroit at Winnipeg and finally Toronto visiting Vancouver. The Ice is ready to go, let’s go for a skate and make some Ice Picks!
CORE MUST-HAVES ⭐
Mark Scheifele WPG C $6,600
The Winnipeg Jets are playing some really good hockey of late going 7-3 over their last 10. Tuesday they are in a great spot to smash a very weak opponent in the Detroit Red Wings. The wings are dead last in the league in goals against per game at a mark of almost four(3.97). Over their previous 10 contests, they have been even worse allowing a putrid 4.50 goals per game. To make matters even more of a challenge for Detroit they are still ravaged by the injury bug. Five key contributors are likely to sit out this one. As for Scheifele, he has cemented himself as the team’s offensive leader. In his last five games, he is averaging a hefty 22.29 minutes per, as well as notching four goals, two assists, 18 shots, and 8 blocks.
Steven Stamkos TB C $6,700
The Lightning and Panthers matchup will be on almost everyone’s radar as both teams are built heavily on winning games with their offensive firepower. Both teams rank within the league’s top five offenses. Conversely, they rank towards the bottom in defensive ranks. Florida is 27th in goals against per game(3.51) and Tampa, ranked 23rd(3.22) before last night’s games. These two tangled twice in October with each team trading wins. Both games went over the total hitting seven total goals each time. Steven Stamkos profiles well in this type of game, he is known for putting a ton of pucks on net. He is heating up a bit of late as he went off for 32.1 DK pts versus San Jose on the 7th. He followed that up with a goal and five shots last night versus the Islanders.
J.T. Miller VAN W $6,400
The Canucks are a bit of a surprise this season, but there is no denying that they are loaded with plenty of young talent. They will look to exploit the Toronto Maple Leafs who are still a team that has some defensive deficiencies. The Canucks are rolling along producing 3.7 goals per contest in their last 10. The powerplay has been great as well over the 10 game chunk, chiming in at 34.29% J.T. Miller has been a very key contributor notching a point in eight straight games.
VALUE PLAYS
Luca Sbisa WPG D $3,500
A Winnipeg stack is in full order here tonight. The Wings are in such a huge funk(11 straight losses) that it’s hard to imagine that the Jets won’t roll over Detroit with ease. If you’re loading up on more expensive forwards, defensemen Luca Sbisa is a fine play at just 3.5K. His peripheral numbers are good over the last five; 11 shots and eight blocks while averaging just over 21 minutes per contest.
Alex Killorn TB W $3,900
We are getting extremely good value with Alex Killorn. Killorn is getting first-line powerplay minutes on an elite unit that ranks 2nd in the entire league at a rate of 30%. Before last night’s tilt versus New York, Killorn has put up 3G and 3A in his last five and like Stamkos, went off versus the Sharks notching an incredible 37 DK pts.
Kyle Turris NAS W $3,500
The Nashville Predators get a very vulnerable team in the San Jose Sharks tonight. The Sharks have lost four straight scoring just six goals while allowing 20. The Preds are coming off a 6-4 victory on the 7th versus the Devils. They have a very balanced attack with a lot of star talent on the back end. This bodes well for Kyle Turris who is getting first-line powerplay minutes. This means ice time with stars Roman Josi and Filip Forsberg.
