Hockey fans from coast to coast love Saturdays. To our friends north of the border, Saturday is often referred to as “Hockey Night in Canada.” It’s a chance to sit back, enjoy the beautiful game, and cheer for our favorite team(s). It’s also an excellent opportunity to line our pockets and earn some extra money.
Without further ado, let’s look at some best bets during Saturday’s slate of NHL games.

Best Bet No. 1: Johnny Gaudreau Over 0.5 Power-Play Points (+155)
As part of the NHL’s Global Series, the Columbus Blue Jackets battle the Colorado Avalanche once again this afternoon in Tampere, Finland. After signing a massive $68.25 million contract with the Jackets in the summer, Johnny Gaudreau has had an impressive start to the season. Through 11 games, the Salem, N.J., native has posted nine points while logging 20:20 worth of ice time. Although he has yet to register a power-play point, Gaudreau has been getting some excellent looks on a talented Jackets power-play unit. This is simply a player who is far too talented to be “on the schneid” for this long. I think Gaudreau breaks his slump this afternoon and registers at least a point on the advantage.
Best Bet No. 2: Bruins vs. Maple Leafs Under 6.5 Total Goals (+105)
The Boston Bruins tangle with the Toronto Maple Leafs this evening in a good, old-fashioned, original-six tilt. The B’s have a new man behind the bench in the form of Jim Montgomery and my, oh my, have they looked phenomenal under his leadership. On the other side is a Maple Leafs team whose inconsistent play has left more concerns (and uncertainty) than their passionate fanbase would have hoped for coming into this season. With that being said, I think both teams bring their A-games tonight in what should be a fascinating night of hockey at Scotiabank Arena. Expect a close-checking, high-intensity contest between two arch-rivals. Ride with the under in this one, especially at plus money.
Best Bet No. 3: Canadiens Money Line (+175)
Sometimes in sports betting, you just have to go with your gut. Enter, the Montreal Canadiens. Although the Habs are in the midst of a full-on rebuild, the club has been playing some competitive hockey early on in the season, posting a 5-5-1 record through 11 games. Tonight, they’ll go up against the Vegas Golden Knights, who have reeled off seven straight wins. The edge? The dynamic duo of Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki in the red, white, and blue of Montreal have been excellent to start the 2022-23 campaign, having combined for 25 points. The Canadiens have a 1-6 record on Saturdays so far this year, but I think their fortune changes tonight. I really like Montreal at home here at +175.
