NFL Week 15 Injury Report

Dr. Beth Sullivan | December 15th, 2019

I knew an injury report without quarterbacks was too good to be true. As we get ready for Week 15 in the NFL, we return to having a quarterback on the report plus a number of other important pieces for each of the injured player’s teams.

Jameis Winston  QB  Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Winston started the week as questionable with a thumb injury suffered last Sunday. He has progressed nicely throughout the week and is expected to start Sunday when the Buccaneers meet the Detroit Lions.

DeVante Parker  WR  Miami Dolphins

Parker was injured in the first half of the Dolphins week 14 game against the New York Jets. He practiced fully on Friday and cleared the concussion protocol on Saturday. He has been cleared to play in the Dolphins Week 15 game against the New York Giants. He should be good to go come game time.

JuJu Smith-Schuster  WR  Pittsburgh Steelers

Smith-Schuster practiced fully Wednesday but tweaked a knee injury that has held him out the last four weeks. On Friday he was ruled out of today’s game against the Buffalo Bills. His status going forward will warrant watching because if Pittsburgh makes it to the playoffs, they will need JuJu healthy.

Trey Quinn  WR  Washington Redskins.

Quinn has been ruled out as he remains in the concussion protocol for the second week. He looked to be making progress toward a return, but he took a downturn on Thursday and was ruled out on Friday.

Cordarrelle Patterson  WR  Chicago Bears

Patterson was limited early in the week with a head injury, but by Friday he was a full participant, absent from the injury report and should be ready for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

Ben Braunecker  TE  Chicago Bears

Braunecker was placed on IR on Saturday which means his season is over. Given the length of time, he was out already with his concussion this designation makes sense and gives him all the time he needs to recover before next spring.
