Every week billions of dollars are wagered on the NFL. The most popular type of bet is the spread. Each week there are a few games with an appealing spread and others with an ugly spread. To help bettors figure out which spreads they should bet on and which to avoid, two of our NFL writers, Mike Fanelli and Dale Money, give their take on every spread for each of this weekend’s games.
To recap, last week, Mike finished with a 4-8 record while Dale also finished 4-8. For the year, Mike is 71-93-2 while Dale is 81-83-2. Let’s take a look at their picks for Week 13.
Spreads are provided by Jazz Sportsbook. Please bet responsibly.

The Team to Bet
Mike: Los Angeles Rams -13
The Rams are currently on a three-game losing streak. They have lost those three games by an average of 13.7 points per game. Furthermore, the Rams have gotten blown out by double-digits in two of those three matchups. However, they faced three playoff contenders during the losing streak. Tomorrow, they take on a Jacksonville Jaguars team that has been a punching bag for most teams this season. Not only have the Jaguars been underdogs in every game since Week 1, but they have struggled to cover the spread. More importantly, they have lost by 12.9 points per game on average this season. Tomorrow, the Rams will obliterate the Jaguars in a game they desperately need to win.
Dale: Los Angeles Chargers +3
In what could be one of the more entertaining matchups of Week 13, the two most promising quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft will face off. Despite the team’s recent struggles, Justin Herbert has played well. He should keep up the strong play against a poor Cincinnati Bengals pass defense. They currently rank in the bottom 10 in yards allowed and will struggle to slow down Herbert tomorrow. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow will give Herbert a run for his money. However, it ultimately won’t be enough to beat the Chargers. Los Angles wins the game outright.
The Team to Avoid
Mike: Arizona Cardinals -8
If Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins play in tomorrow’s game, the Cardinals have a chance to cover the spread. Even if they play, neither has seen game action in over a month. While the Cardinals have won and covered the spread in two of the three games without the star players, they have been inconsistent each week. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears have only won one of their past six games. However, they have played tough against their opponents lately. The offense is starting to click with Darnell Mooney and Cole Kmet playing critical roles, while the defense has held their opponents to under 17 points in two straight games. The Cardinals will win this game, but the Bears will cover the spread.
Dale: Denver Broncos +10
The Broncos have performed well as of late, so being underdogs at home by 10 points might seem surprising. Part of it has to do with how well Andy Reid has played against this Broncos team. The Broncos haven’t defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in 12 straight matchups. Teddy Bridgewater will not have enough to keep his team within striking distance of a resurgent Patrick Mahomes and the high-powered Kansas City offense. Back the well-rested Chiefs over a banged-up Broncos team. Chiefs win by 14 or more.
