The battle for the NFC West is heating up and Thursday night features two of the three teams tied for first atop the division. The Seattle Seahawks are coming off back-to-back losses and will host the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals pulled off a miraculous comeback on Sunday thanks to DeAndre Hopkins and Kyler Murray, who connected on a last-second Hail Mary to win the game. These teams met a few weeks ago on Sunday night, resulting in a thrilling Cardinals overtime win. Let’s check out the top DFS players for this NFC West showdown.
DraftKings Captain
Larry Fitzgerald (DK Captain $6,600 | FD $7,500)
It’s easy to take the obvious route and go with Hopkins. However, Fitzgerald is still a Hall of Fame receiver and is way overdue for a touchdown. He’s coming into this game having seen at least five targets in his last three games. The last time these teams met Fitzgerald had eight targets, converting all eight while turning them into 62 yards. The veteran has seen four red-zone targets on the season and two of those came in the last two games. Look for Larry Fitz to score a touchdown, and at the Captain spot he will save plenty of salary to afford both quarterbacks on the slate.
FanDuel MVP
D.K. Metcalf (DK $10,200 | FD $13,500)
The last time these teams met, Tyler Lockett had a career game. On the other hand, Metcalf struggled, only catching two passes for 23 yards. Lockett’s ownership will likely be higher because of that and Metcalf’s will be lower. Lockett is banged up but he should play and hopefully that won’t scare people off of Lockett. Even though Metcalf’s stats weren’t great last time these teams played he was able to break loose for a game-winning touchdown in overtime that was called back thanks to a holding penalty. Look for Metcalf to have a big game and be the top Seahawks receiver on this slate.
Utility Players
Russell Wilson (DK $11,800 | FD $16,500) & Kyler Murray (DK $13,000 | FD $17,000)
Similar to the last game this one should be high-scoring. The Seahawks defense ranks last in the league with an average of 353 passing yards allowed. The Cardinals are 20th in the league with 249 passing yards allowed. Arizona has also struggled even more against the pass of late with an average of 296 yards per game. Each quarterback in the last meeting put up over 360 yards and three touchdowns. They are both MVP candidates and will look to continue to make their cases in primetime. Look for them to put on another offensive show tonight.
Zane Gonzalez (DK $4,200 | FD $8,500)
The Cardinals have one of the top offenses in the league, leading the league in yards per game. That is very good news for Gonzalez. He should see plenty of opportunities to kick field goals in this game and his recent numbers have been very good. In his last three games, he has attempted 10 field goals, converting on eight en route to scoring 16 fantasy points in two of the last three contests. His price on both sites is low enough to allow you plenty of wiggle room to pick any of the top salary players on this slate. Gonzalez should have another double-digit fantasy outing Thursday night.
