NBA Week 20: Unmissable Games

For many of us, the excitement of a new week in the NBA hits no greater height than seeing our teams move up a spot or two in the league standings. While the majority of us are just happy and content to see our teams make the postseason, others have set their sights on higher goals. They want their teams to be No. 1.

Let’s take a quick look at what lies ahead when it comes to those spicy NBA matchups.

March 4: Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers

Yes, the Lakers already beat the Thunder twice this season, but it doesn’t mean they can relax. Oklahoma is still way up in the standings, so beating them one more time should give them a mental edge in case they cross paths in the NBA Playoffs. LeBron James and Anthony Davis will try their best to contain Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, their former teammate in last month’s All-Star Game.

March 5: Phoenix Suns at Denver Nuggets

We should be thankful that these teams are meeting twice this month because their first matchup back in December was a thrilling ride. The Nuggets were up by 17, but the Suns somehow came back and made it a close game. Too bad Kevin Durant and his squad ran out of ammo when they couldn’t buy a field goal in the last three minutes of the game. The Suns went on to lose by eight.

March 6: “Cali Trip” for Milwaukee Bucks

Schedule-makers gave the Bucks a four-game road trip to California where they will face the Golden State Warriors first, followed by the two Los Angeles teams, and then a quick flight north to face the Kings. Winning two out of four should be the minimum requirement. Anything less will classify this as an unsuccessful trip and coach Doc Rivers could be blamed.

March 7: Boston Celtics at Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets will be hosting the Celtics, who have the best win-loss record in the league right now. That should serve as extra motivation for coach Michael Malone and his squad. We are sure that they’ve seen all the articles about how the Celtics are the favorites to win it all this year. Surely the Nuggets, who are aiming to win back-to-back titles, have something to say about that.

March 9: Boston Celtics at Phoenix Suns

This will be a reunion for Kristaps Porzingis and Bradley Beal, who were teammates in Washington, D.C. Porzingis joined the Celtics while Beal moved west to team up with the Suns. Both players seem to be doing well with their new teams and the loser of this game won’t have to wait long for a rematch. They play each other again in less than a week.
