NBA Mavericks' Luke Doncic

The NBA seems to be in a good place. A lot of players are emerging right now and we have easy access to how they are growing through daily highlights. Scoring is up, too, and if a team is down big, you can always count on them to have a huge comeback and make that particular game competitive again.

Now, let us explore some of the potential classic games in store for us this week.

Feb. 5: Dallas Mavericks at Philadelphia 76ers

After Joel Embiid scored 70 points against the San Antonio Spurs and after Luka Doncic scored 73 points in Atlanta, fans already knew what to do. They immediately checked the schedule for the next Sixers-Mavericks game. Unfortunately, Embiid will miss this game and is expected to be sidelined for an extended period of time. Look for the 76ers to lean on Tyrese Maxey, who recently scored 51 points. He just might be able to go toe-to-toe with Doncic.

Feb. 8: Dallas Mavericks at New York Knicks

New York’s Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson will be extra thrilled about this game. Randle will be facing his hometown team while Brunson takes on his former teammates. For fans in Madison Square Garden, it is about seeing Doncic play in person. In their first meeting of the season, Doncic sat out and the Mavericks won.

Feb. 8: Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers

When the NBA schedule was released, fans of the Lakers immediately looked for this date. They had to wonder when the Nuggets, who eliminated their beloved team, were coming to town. To make things worse, their squad started the season with a loss in Denver while the Nuggets received their championship rings. The rematch is finally here. Look for the crowd to be a little bit rowdy inside Crypto.com Arena.

Feb. 9: Houston Rockets at Toronto Raptors

Fred VanVleet visits the north as the enemy after seven seasons with the Raptors, including a championship run. The undrafted player became an unrestricted free agent in the offseason and chose to join the Rockets. He won’t be seeing some of his old friends, though, as Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, and even Nick Nurse are no longer in Toronto.

Feb. 11: Boston Celtics at Miami Heat

Super Bowl Sunday will be the topic throughout the day. In fact, the NBA only scheduled two games for this date. The Celtics-Heat battle will be one of those games and you might as well watch it since it will be a rematch of last season’s epic playoff battle. Yes, the Heat are in a slump, but you know they are all about the postseason and are still one of the teams you would hate to face in a seven-game series.
