Are you enjoying the NBA ride so far? Are there a few games each week that are getting game of the year vibes? Well, buckle up because things are about to get really exciting. With the trade deadline, sidelined players getting healthy, and All-Star Weekend coming up soon, hoop action’s about to get crazier. Let’s get into next week’s slate of standout games (January 24 to 30).

January 24 & 26
Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns playing against each other for two games in a row? Why not? It may be hard to believe that these two teams have never met each other this season. It’s only fitting that we get to see them play twice in three days. Jazz center Rudy Gobert, one of the best in rebounds and blocks, will have a tough day in the office as he faces the Suns who are currently in the top five in offense.
January 25
Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets part two. This game is marked on everyone’s sports calendar. Fans want to see if the Lakers can avenge their loss against the Nets during Christmas day. Lakers can’t let the Nets take control of the game’s tempo and will need everyone’s help on the offensive side. Kevin Durant will miss this game due to a knee injury which could be good news for Laker fans.
January 27, 28, 30
Are the Minnesota Timberwolves mad at the NBA schedule makers? They’ll have to face the Golden State Warriors and the Suns in back-to-back days which will be followed by a game against the Jazz two days later. That’s three games in four days against the top teams in the Western Conference standings. Fans are eager to see how the Timberwolves will emerge from their hell week.
January 29
The Nets and the Warriors matchup will have us seeing coach Steve Nash return to the Bay Area. Nash used to work for the Warriors and this trip would have been more exciting for him if fellow ex-Warrior Durant was able to play. Now he has to make some adjustments. The Nets will want to win this one badly because they’re known for not winning that many games against playoff teams.
Celtic Advantage
The Boston Celtics are currently battling for a Play-In Tournament seat and next week would be a good time for them to gain momentum. They’ll only have three games and all three are against teams with losing records. Getting that small winning streak will do wonders for their playoff hopes. They have more than 30 games left before the season ends. That’s more than enough to set things right.
Trade is in the Air
The words “trade” and “rumors” will be everywhere in the NBA atmosphere. Fans will be speculating about who could be dealt before the trade deadline. Ben Simmons? Jerami Grant? Or some random bench player? Expect your favorite team’s general manager to be on the phone for the next several days trying to see who’s available. For the impatient fans, there’s a blockbuster trade out there waiting to happen.
